1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how the mobile application AlertPrometheus, developed by Ruizber, handles user information. AlertPrometheus is a native Android client for viewing and managing alerts from Prometheus AlertManager servers.

• The URL of the Prometheus AlertManager server entered by the user.
• Optional username and password for HTTP Basic authentication against that server.
• Application preferences: language, timezone, polling frequency, and notification options.

These credentials are stored encrypted using EncryptedSharedPreferences (AES-256-GCM backed by the Android Keystore) and never leave the device, except when sent to the AlertManager server the user has configured, solely to authenticate requests.

3. Network communications

The application only makes HTTP/HTTPS requests to the Prometheus AlertManager server whose URL the user has entered. AlertPrometheus does not communicate with any other server, analytics service, advertising network, or telemetry provider.

4. Permissions requested

• Internet: required to connect to the configured AlertManager server.
• Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS): optional, used to notify the user of new alerts.
• Receive boot completed (RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED): optional, to resume periodic checks after the device reboots.
• Battery optimization exemption (REQUEST_IGNORE_BATTERY_OPTIMIZATIONS): optional, so that notifications are delivered while the phone is locked.

5. Sharing data with third parties

AlertPrometheus does not share any data with third parties. The app contains no advertising, analytics, tracking, social-media, or external SDKs of any kind.

6. Storage and security

All data generated or entered by the user is stored exclusively in the application's private storage on the device. Credentials are encrypted using the Android Keystore. Uninstalling the application permanently removes this data.

8. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated in the future. Any changes will be published at this same URL indicating the date of the last update.
